Prof Richard Phillips

Prof. Richard Phillips is Scientific Director at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research (KCCR), Kumasi Ghana.

He has more than 20 years of experience, also professor at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Deputy Editor of the PLOS Neglected Tropical Disease Journal and grant reviewer.

His areas of interest include; pathogenesis, 2) diagnosis and management of Mycobacterium ulcerans disease (Buruli ulcer), 3) emerging infectious diseases (HIV, Tuberculosis (Multidrug resistance), Hepatitis C infection), 4) co-infection of HIV with Hepatitis B, C, D, E virus co-infection

Dr Michael Frimpong

Dr Michael Frimpong is a Research Fellow at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He is also a lecturer, Department of Molecular Medicine, School of Medical Sciences of the same University.

He has over 4 years of experience working as a research fellow, and started as a university lecturer in 2020.

His areas of interest include; 1) molecular diagnostics, 2) point-of-care tests, 3) skin neglected tropical diseases, 4) laboratory quality management system.
